Trainers, this is not a drill. I repeat, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! In today’s Pokémon Presents, Tsunekazu Ishihara announced that Mega Evolutions are coming to Pokémon GO! But, that’s not all. It was also shared that the Mythical Pokémon Victini will be making its Pokémon GO debut during Pokémon GO Fest 2020.
Additional non-Pokémon GO related news announcements were made including, a revamp of Pokémon Snap and new Pokémon games for the Switch Nintendo and mobile gaming. Enough said, let’s dive in! You can find the full Pokémon Presents video below.

Mega Evolutions Coming in 2020
Mega Evolutions are coming to Pokémon GO in 2020! In the Pokémon Presents presentation, a short trailer was shared introducing the feature to Pokémon GO. Ishihara shared that they are working on a new take on Mega Evolutions that is enhanced by Pokémon GO’s unique gameplay. An exact date wasn’t given, only the trailer showing that we can expect the feature in 2020.
For those of you who are not familiar with Mega Evolutions, let me explain. Mega Evolutions were introduced in the Generation VI main series games, transforming Pokémon into their Mega form. Mega Evolutions change the appearance of a Pokémon while enhancing its stats in battle.
VICTINI RELEASE AT GO FEST 2020
|Victini will be making its Pokémon GO debut at the first ever virtual Pokémon GO Fest 2020! Although we weren’t provided a lot of details, we can assume Victini will be the star of the Special Research story line, but for now we can only guess!|
GALARIAN FARFETCH’D RELEASE
Galarian Farfetch’d is now live in Pokémon GO! In celebration of the release of the Isle of Armor Expansion Pass for Pokémon Sword & Shield on Nintendo Switch, Galarian Farfetch’d is making its Pokémon GO debut, along with some cool avatar items!
Galarian Farfetch’d will have increased spawns from Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 6:00 a.m. to Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 6:00 a.m. PDT (GMT −7). It is unclear whether it will stay available afterwards so get it while you can!

New Pokémon Games
A lot of new Pokémon games were introduced during the Pokémon Presents presentation. Let’s take a look at what was announced.
Pokémon Smile is an app for kids to encourage them to brush their teeth and to make toothbrushing a more fun experience as a whole. With Pokémon Smile, kids can play mini games while bushing their teeth in order to save Pokémon and catch them. The app is available on both iOS and Android for free, and can be downloaded now.
Pokémon Café Mix
Pokémon Café Mix is a new puzzle game coming to Nintendo Switch and smartphones soon. In this game, players own a Pokémon café visited only by Pokémon. In order to complete orders of the customers, you’ll have to complete puzzles. Visiting Pokémon can join your café’s staff in order to help you. Pokémon Café Mix will be a free to start game, with in-app purchases available. You can pre-purchase the Switch version of the game here as it will be available beginning June 23rd.

Hey AshKetzchup? Are you happy? I bet you are! After 21 years of waiting, a new Pokémon Snap game was announced for Nintendo Switch. In the game, you’ll be on an island full of Pokémon, where you can try to snap them all! The release date is unknown as the game is still under development, but more details will be shared in the future.
Pokémon Sword & Shield: Isle of Armor
In order to celebrate the release of the Isle of Armor Expansion Pass, special Max Raid Battles are coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield! From June 17th to June 28th, Sword & Shield players can battle the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora! But that’s not all. If one million Trainers complete Max Raid Battles against Zeraora, players will be gifted a Shiny Zeraora! Shiny hype!
