The charmingly galactic Solstice event is making a comeback to Pokémon GO in 2020. It has been a few years since we have had this event, which was quite a different sight back then than what we are in for in 2020. Let’s get down to the details, shall we?
Solstice Event 2020
The last time we saw the Pokémon GO Summer Solstice Event was in 2017. During that event, we saw numerous Fire- and Ice-types all around the world. Let’s see what we have to look forward to this year!

Solstice Event Increased Spawns
Niantic specifically mentioned a couple of unique Solstice-themed Pokémon as having increased spawns during this event. Here is a list of the Pokémon that were mentioned, as well as some we would expect to see.
As additional spawns are reported, we will be sure to update this list accordingly.

Shiny Clefairy Family
Day & Night
Oh Solstice event, how we have missed thee. This event has a little bit of everything for everyone. Missed out on shiny Lunatone and/or Solrock in previous events? You will have another chance now. Need to fill out your shiny Clefairy family? You get that chance as well. Miss shiny Sunkern or Teddiursa? You can check that box during this event as well. All that, and we haven’t even mentioned all the other increased spawns, Raid Bosses, and Egg Pool hatches. Oh, and there’s Exclusive Field Research tasks too! So whether your a champion of the light or a creature of the dark, the Solstice Event 2020 event is definitely something to look forward to.
